I recently had an incredibly disappointing experience with Economy Car Rentals and feel compelled to share my review. I booked a car (booking number ECA1012D) for December 9, but on December 4 I received an email from Emma M. from customer service stating that there was an internal error and the car (convertible) I had booked was unavailable. Instead I was offered a Fiat 500 which was not suitable for me.
As a result, I only had 5 days left before my rental date and was unable to find any alternatives in a similar price range. To top it all off, when I arrived at the TopCar rental location on December 9, I was shocked to be charged €214.50 instead of the originally agreed upon €148.96. Not only did I end up paying more, but also the car provided was of a lower class than the one I had originally booked.
As someone who has been a loyal customer of Economy Car Rentals for over 10 years, this experience has seriously damaged my trust in the company. It is disheartening to see a long-standing relationship marred by such a significant decline in quality of service.
My emails have gone unanswered and I have not received compensation to date. I hope the company takes this feedback seriously.
